The Greek Children's Fund

Where does the money go?

In the 34 years since its inception, GCF has assisted more than 7,000 patients and has raised approximately $7.5 million. Of this amount, GCF created a $1 million endowment fund at MSKCC and distributed more than $6.5 million directly to patients and their families for daily, non-medical needs. These include living expenses, rent, transportation, and funeral expenses. Since GCF is solely run by volunteers, the operational expenses of the organization have been minimal.

GCF has a policy of distribution of funds that is abided by the GCF committee as well as those hospitals with which it has been affiliated. The policy of funds and the letter from MSKCC’s Director of Special Gifts, both included below, show GCF’s structured policies and procedures for the distribution of funds.
